Bastaard Fantasy Awards
Our friends over at Bastaard are hosting their very own award show in March, and we have made it to the longlist of one of their catgories! We’re very honoured to have been nominated for ‘Best live act from Belgium or The Netherlands in 2015″.
We would love to make it to the shortlist, but for that to happen we need votes, lots of ‘em! So if you want to help us(and have a facebook profile), click here and then click on us! It literally only takes about ten seconds, (because there’s no need to register and confirm your vote) and we’d be ever so grateful!
We are looking back on an amazing year! Playing at lovely festivals like Keltfest, Castlefest and Theater op ‘t zand (where we had quite the adventure of being driven to the stage in the back of a pickup truck!), but also revisiting intimate acoustic venues like Ons Ding in Haarlem and Quinta Essentia in Zwaanshoek(to name just a few).
So what’s in store for 2016? Hmm, let me see…
-playing more gigs in Belgium
-performing alongsides our friends of RASTABAN
-finally shooting a new band picture
and most importantly….
RECORDING OUR NEXT ALBUM! (wheeee, we can’t wait!!)
So stay tuned! 2016 is going to be epic!
As some of you may have noticed or heard by now: I am currently 7,5 months pregnant(and overjoyed about it!) and am expecting to give birth around the 23rd of juli. Keltfest was officially my last gig before my pregnancy leave, which means at the next gig in Valkenburg I won’t be there, but you’ll find another singer filling in for me! Continue reading

Hi there! Just a quick post to let you all know that our debut album, ‘Finvarra’, can also be purchased at the German-based webshop ‘Old Songs New Songs’ and the dutch webshop Velvet music. Alternatively, if you happen to find yourself in our hometown, Leiden, you can also hop by the physical cd stores Velvet Music and Plato and ask for our cd there.
Hurrah, 2014 is looking good already! We’ve been booked to play at Keltfest festival the 31st of may and the 1st of june. We’re very psyched and thrilled to be asked for such a fantastic festival and we’re looking forward to seeing all our old friends there (and of course make some new ones!). Sláinte!
And a new one just begun! What can we say…2013 has been a good one.. We released our first CD, we performed at many awesome venues and festivals where we had the good fortune to play for sweet and enthusiastic people, we made some very nice new friends, hung out with old ones and we have grown not only musically, but in number as well! We welcomed bass player extraordinaire Evert Willemstijn into the Finvarra family and already we couldn’t imagine Finvarra life without him anymore.
What will 2014 hold? More of the same hopefully! We already have some awesome new shows booked and look forward to performing at new festivals and venues with our dear colleagues from the dutch folkscene (isn’t it cool that such a small country holds so much folkbands?). We’re also hard at work on some new exciting material which we hope to debut live this spring, so if you’re curious, be sure to take a gander at our gigs page !
Don’t see a gig near you at the moment? Don’t fret, we’re busy planning new ones all the time, and if you know of a suitable venue or festival near where you live that might welcome us, don’t be shy! Let us know, and more importantly, let the venue of festival know that you’d like to see us perform there. It really helps us!
But enough of that, all that remains now for us is to whish you a splendid, sparkly, shiny, healthy, blessed 2014! Now where’s the champagne?
Love and peace to all!

ready to ship anywhere!
We’ve been getting some questions from people near and far about our cd and how to acquire it…
The easiest way is to attend one of our gigs, but if you’re not able to do that (because, say, you live on another continent;) then we suggest you head over to Gwen’s Etsy store, where we’ve put up the cd for the non-Dutchies.
Dutch peeps can get the cd by getting in touch with us. Fill out the contact form and be sure to include your address and name and we will get back to you with payment instructions! (If you want us to sign it, we will happily comply, just mention it in the contact form!)
There’s also the opportunity of buying the cd from Velvet music , and, if you happen to be in Leiden, pop over to the Plato or Velvet store and ask for our cd there.
